There was a lot going on in 1993: meetings continued at Kennydale School until summer then switched to the Pavilion Mall in July and Charleen Bodvin's home in August. Club officers held a contest to develop a new club logo and plans for hosting a 30th Cougar anniversary national event were begun. Also, due to poor turnout, we considered dropping the highway cleanup program. There were lots of events throughout the year, but not much information on them.
There was a bowling party on January 8th at Brunswick Majestic Lanes, and a highway cleanup, BBQ and tech session at Flaming Geyser Park on April 17th.
A few members were part of the 90 cars at the CCOA West Nats on June 17-20 at Albuquerque, NM.
Prowl VIII was held on July 11th at Tukwila where 80 cars braved the morning rain to compete in 25 classes. On the field were 60 Cougars, 9 Lincolns and 11 other Mercurys.
The following weekend, 30 Cougars attended the Mustang Roundup in Bellevue on July 17-18.
It was reported that between May and August Warren & Marilyn Smith picked up 7 trophies and put 13,000 miles on their 69 Cougar. They travelled from local shows on the west coast to the CCOA West Nats in New Mexico, to Matamoras, PA for the CCOA East Nats then back home again. Incidentally, they placed 1st in the stock class at both national events.
The Can Am at Hovander Park in Ferndale was held on September 11th and boasted 30 cars. The southern caravan was led by Marc Ogren in Cougar One (who owned it at the time). Following the show there was a BBQ at Jerry & Ruby Klug's home.
